I noticed that Bronte has a lot of dog attacks on the characters. By chapter 6, I believe Bronte has included at least 3 dog attacks, 2 on Lockwood and 1 on Catherine Earnshaw. This makes me wonder whether the author, herself has had many bad experiences with dogs which insist her to write about dogs in a bad, violent, and cruel way.
Hahahah that is a very good point and one that I completely missed when I was reading. Also, I just looked this up and I found out that she was apparently bitten in the arm by a dog (and she calmly cauterized the wound herself with a hot poker) so your theory may be correct! I have seen instances of people getting dog bites in other books but they haven't been mentioned as much as they have in Wuthering Heights.
