The Unsympathetic Heathcliff
I think it's absolutely horrifying how Heathcliff would use his family members as pawns to try and inherit Edgar's property and also take revenge on the family. I feel like it's terribly mean that Heathcliff would want his child to die, and have his soon-to-be-by-force daughter-in-law locked up in a room until she consents to her marriage with Linton. But, I wasn't so surprised when Nelly escaped from the room and she was met Linton. Linton, like father like son, was boasting his achievements, which included marrying Catherine and inheriting their property.
