Heathcliff's Class Struggle
Heathcliff in this story is going through a constant battle between social classes. At first, he was considered a low-class orphan that was adopted into a high-class family, making him the son of a gentleman. Later on, when the house was run under Hindley, he is pushed back, and treated as one of the servants; he often dressed like one too. Heathcliff, was always dirty and none of the high-class children ever wanted to be in contact or even be seen with him. Later on, these are the reasons would be why Heathcliff wanted to take revenge on the Earnshaws.

I felt so bad for Heathcliff at first but then as the story progressed, my feelings diminished. However, I find Heathcliff's character very insecure and that one of the main themes of Wuthering Heights is social standing and success. The harm of it and the need to overlook it to reach love.
