Romeo and Juliet
In chapter 18, the story that is taking place at that moment reminds me of the romantic tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. Catherine, a member of the Linton's family, and Hareton, a member of the Earnshaw's family, are both forbidden to see each other because of previous feuds between Hindley, Heathcliff and Edgar.

I feel as if every story that has a forbidden love is based off of Romeo and Juliet. Also, since Wuthering Heights was published in 1847, Emily Bronte most likely had read Romeo and Juliet and it may have indirectly inspired her!
