Ironic Ending to Hindley's Life

I thought it was ironic how Hindley wanted to kill Heathcliff so that he could acquire his wealth but in actuality, Hindley dies being buried  deep in debt. Most of the money Hindley had to owe was to Heathcliff, who added Hindley in his gambling addiction. Since Hindley cannot repay the money during his afterlife, Heathcliff now owns Wuthering Heights.
