Many times when Edgar found out that something was going on between Linton and Catherine, he would always forbid Catherine to ever meet the boy again. But that, honestly didn't stop Catherine from finding a way to meet Linton. I think, to effectively stop Catherine from meeting the boy, he should do more than forbidding his daughter.
