Heathcliff's Forgiveness

I thought it was surprising that Heathcliff finally forgave Catherine for "betraying" him. I also thought it was kind of cute when he started to explain that he can never forgive her for the pain she caused herself. I thought that only a true friend, lover would know the true personality of someone they love and he believed that she was destroying who she was, which I thought was a touching moment.
